Eligibility: Open to everyone who was born in Perak OR who is currently resides, works, or attends school / learning institution in Perak.

*U20 category will be part of selection criteria for SUKMA 2024

Format: Swiss System 7 Rounds, 60 minutes + 5 secs. per player (Open) / 15 Minutes + 5 secs. per player (Under-12)

*Recording of move is compulsory for Open category, unless the player has less than 5 minutes left on his clock.

Tie-break: Direct Encounter, Buchholz Cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, Progressive Score

Hukuman menulis gerakan lebih awal sebelum menggerakkan buah catur (recording a move in advance)

Berdasarkan tulisan oleh IA Anantharam Rathinam dalam website FIDE Arbiters' Comission baru-baru ini, terdapat kes pemain remaja yang diberikan penalti sebagai forfeit (kalah) kerana menulis gerakan sebelum menggerakkan buah catur. Ia menjadi isu kerana gambaran yang diberikan bahawa pemain ini telah melakukan satu kesalahan kecil tetapi telah dihukum dengan hukuman yang sangat berat. Sebelum kita membuat kesimpulan ini, mari kita lihat apakah Undang-undang FIDE yang berkaitan dengan menulis gerakan ketika permainan berlangsung.

Berdasarkan kepada Undang-undang catur FIDE yang terkini (Versi 1 Januari 2023), artikel berikut adalah berkaitan:

Article 8: The recording of the moves

8.1.1 In the course of play each player is required to record his/her own moves and those of his/her opponent in the correct manner, move after move, as clearly and legibly as possible...

Artikel ini menyentuh tentang kewajipan menulis gerakan (dalam kawalan masa standard/klasik) setiap gerakan yang dia atau lawannya lakukan. Ia ditulis mengikut susunan gerakan demi gerakan, dan boleh dibaca secara jelas.

8.1.2 It is forbidden to record the moves in advance, unless the player is claiming a draw according to Article 9.2, or 9.3 or adjourning a game...

Artikel ini menyentuh tentang larangan menulis gerakan terlebih dahulu sebelum menggerakkan buah catur, melainkan pemain ingin claim untuk seri berdasarkan artikel 9.2 & 9.3. Artikel 9.2 adalah berkaitan dengan claim draw 3 repeated position, sementara artikel 9.3 ialah berkait dengan claim draw untuk 50 gerakan.

Secara jelas, pemain dilarang menulis gerakan terlebih dahulu sebelum menggerakkan buah catur.
